Our final book suggestions for this week are ecology activity books that teach kids about the environment and how to care for it. These books are educational and a lot of fun. As with all of our recommendations, the books can be found at the library, your local book store or on line.
365 Ways to Live Green for Kids: Saving the Environment at Home, School, or at Play–Every Day! by Sheri Amsel As its name implies, this book has tips, ideas and activities for every day of the year. It emphasizes the three Rs: reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling and has much more. This book is appropriate for kids aged 9 – 12.
Hands-On Ecology: Real-Life Activities for Kids by Colleen Kessler is an ecology activity book for kids in grades 3 – 5. Parents, and educators too, can participate with the kids in activities meant to teach conservation and environmentalism. This book encourages kids natural curiosity about the world around them. Like the 365 book, this book can be used all year long.
