February Holidays and Celebrations.

Posted on: Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

February – the month for Valentine’s Day and Presidents Weekend.  This February we have 29 days for celebrations and observances.  Yep, it’s Leap Year.  This day was added to our calendar once every four years as a corrective measure because the earth doesn’t orbit around the sun in exactly 365 day.  If we didn’t add a day on February 29, every 4 years, we would lose almost six hours every year.  And of course that means one less day for celebrations.

Speaking of celebrations here’s a list of holidays and celebrations in February.  I’m sure you’ll recognize some of them but others, maybe not.  These were gleaned from various web sites, some for their meaning and some for a laugh, although all of them are real.  Enjoy.
