For Everyone EXCEPT Mom on Mother’s Day.

Posted on: Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

We normally don’t believe in secrets but this Mother’s Day we thought that, perhaps, planning a little surprise would merit an exception.
Start by scheduling a family meeting when Mom is busy doing something else or is out of the house.  Ask each family member what they think would make Mom happy and make a list.  Develop an action plan that includes everyone EXCEPT Mom.  If your committee can’t agree remember the goal is to work together and surprise Mom.  Just in case you get stuck thinking up ideas here are some suggestions:

  • Make breakfast
  • Create a coupon book for doing chores
  • Planting flowers
  • Write a poem
  • Offer up a day without arguing with your brothers and sisters
  • Design and make a picture frame (try Popsicle sticks)
  • Clean up your room
  • Set the table
  • No nagging
  • Handmade placemats

The best gift of all will be the look on Mom’s face when she sees the wonderful surprise planned by the family, in secret!

 Happy Mother’s Day!!
