The final two Graphic Novel recommendations for this week are:
Gabby and Gator by James Burks. A book full of adventure and fun for kids age 9 – 12. The moral to this story is accept yourself for who you are and find friends who do the same thing. To begin the discussion with your child ask “How did you feel when Gabby was being bullied?” Be sure to ask your child to explain why they felt that way.
Stinky by Eleanor Davis. This book is for kids in grades K – 4. A fun and funny book that also teaches how, by overcoming prejudices, new friendships can result. After reading the story ask your child “Why was Stinky afraid of kids? Would you want to be friends with Stinky? Explain why.”
